In Progress

For this project, I am trying to show everyday habits people( mostly negative), not only students, but everyone have.  Either stress related or just plain careless, these habits are inevitable. I would love to know what you guys think and what might come to your minds.  Any ideas on how to express this in the gallery would be welcomed.  I am planning on exploring more negative habits, if any ideas come to any of you, please share them with me!

  1. When I first see your work, I am really interested. What a creative idea! I like how your visual represented the bad habits. It makes me feel alittle anxious(in a good way). It is like I am walking in people's personal lives. I like that you are allowing the viewer to explore everything about a bad habit without worring about getting caught staring! :)

The pictures all look properly exposed and very clear. I like how framed the pictures.
I would print these large and make it more in your face so that the viewer is forced to look at every detail.

Can't wait to see it in the Gallery!

    1. Oh and I just thought of this! You could do a person chewing gum really obnoxiously.

  2. The images, as a whole, are delightfully difficult to look at. I enjoy that you got up very close to the fingernail biting, which is my favorite image. There is something about seeing a bad habit so closely and matter-of-factly that really makes it grotesque. I think that printing these images large and hanging them up simply could emphasize this even further….A very large image of the nail biter or the leftovers in the toilet would be very striking (and difficult) to see! Since you are already emphasizing moments that are "unphotographable", playing with large scale might be a way to add to this.
Technically, things are looking good. The exposures look accurate and the compositions look careful and clean.
Some bad habits I thought of: Bad table manners (like licking fingers), not covering coughs or sneezes, wiping one's nose with hand...
